If you’re searching for some inspiration in your home design without breaking the bank, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve dug through the web and found 10 of the hottest designers and DIY bloggers. Each blogger has their own unique flair and sense of style, so we’re sure that there’s something to love for everyone.
Without further ado, we present to you the top 10 hottest new designers and DIY wizards of 2020.
What’s to love: Genève offers a slew of tips and tutorials for easy DIY projects, both for the home and the wardrobe. We were especially drawn to her blog because of her emphasis on zero waste. Many of her projects involve upcycling and repurposing common household items into something functional. We love how she saves money on home decor by repurposing ordinary objects!
Our favorite project: We adore all of Genève’s content, but what really caught our eye are her tips for styling a small entryway. With five simple and doable steps, she walks her readers through the process she took to transform her small entryway into an attractive, functional space.
Style by Emily Henderson
What’s to love: First of all, what ISN’T to love here?! Emily Henderson is a design expert, and if we do say so ourselves, she’s absolutely killing it. Her beautiful website is full of DIY home projects for every room of the house. (She also covers fashion and beauty, if that’s up your ally.)
Our favorite project: Emily has so many great low-budget, DIY projects that it’s hard to choose a favorite! But right now, we’re in love with her kitchen makeover. Sticking to a $3,000 budget, Emily walks her readers through her plans to completely renovate her kitchen with both cleanliness and aesthetics in mind. She also posts some of her unused design plans if you’re looking for design inspiration for your own kitchen makeover.
What’s to love: Cassity’s website is all things DIY, with an emphasis on clean, eco-friendly remodeling and living. All of her projects are created with the “reduce, reuse, recycle” mantra in mind, which we love!
Our favorite project: Right now, we’re loving Cassity’s DIY lounge chairs. Perfect for the summer, these wooden recliners are a simple way to bring your backyard to the next level. The lounge chairs also come with storage for cushions or pool items. All you need for this project are some wood planks, plenty of screws, and some tools!
Fall for DIY
What’s to love: Francesca stocks her blog with DIY projects for food, parties, decor, fashion, and the office. There’s something here for everyone! Her blog is beautiful, and it’s easy to waste (a little too much) time exploring her awesome DIY ideas.
Our favorite project: We’re currently obsessed with Francesca’s simple, step-by-step tutorial on how to build a standing vanity with pegboard and hidden mirror storage. We love all of the storage options that this pegboard creates–perfect for a cramped bedroom or bathroom space!
Our favorite project: This was a tough one because there was so much to choose from! But we’re currently loving Mandi’s DIY magnetic wood memo board, especially for how simple it is! If you have a piece of plywood, Neodymium magnets, and wood glue, you already have everything you need to get to work on this super-easy home project.
Addicted 2 DIY
What’s to love: We love Katie’s fun tutorials for easy home projects. She even shares simple instructions on how to build your own furniture! Our favorite project: Katie’s DIY bbq accessory cart is the perfect summer DIY project. You’ll be ready for your next summer cookout with this awesome outdoor accessory!
Our favorite project: Let’s be honest, our living rooms have been working overtime lately, functioning as a home office, entertainment center, and napping spot. Maxwell provides style tips and advice on how to turn your living room into a functional space that will fill all of these roles. We are especially in love with Apartment Therapies 50 best living room rooms to inspire.
What’s to love: Erika Domesek is a connoisseur of all things DIY–from home decor to fashion. After one look at her blog, we’re sure you’ll agree. She has a great sense of style, and her decor ideas are both unique and easy to follow!
Our favorite project: Erika’s DIY centerpiece really caught our attention. We can all agree that flowers make the perfect summertime centerpiece, but not everyone has a green thumb. Erika has the perfect solution with her (faux) centerpiece. It looks so real, you’ll have your guests doing a double-take!
What’s to love: In this blog, Meg and Steph walk readers through easy sewing tutorials, recipes, home decor, refinishing projects, and furniture building tutorials. Whatever your interests and skills may be, these two sisters have a DIY project for you!
Our favorite project: In our favorite project, the two moms show us how to give a facelift to an old couch. These DIY divas walk you through how to stuff, remove pills, clean and protect the fabric to get your worn-out couch looking new again. So if your couch is looking like it’s ready for the dumpster, think again! You can avoid spending money on a brand new couch with these easy steps.
Addicted 2 Decorating
What’s to love: For 10 years now, Krista has been documenting her DIY journey as she refurbishes her 1948 “fixer-upper.” She encourages you to do the same with your home through her honest approach to blogging, where she documents the successes and the (occasional) failures.
Our favorite project: Bold, signature pieces are all the rage now. If you’re looking to add a pop of color to brighten a room, you’ll love Krista’s lamp makeover, where she transforms a drab looking lamp into a fun statement piece.
The Handyman’s Daughter
What’s to love: We love Vineta’s tutorials for woodworking, home improvement, and DIY projects. She’s been blogging about her home improvement journey for over five years now, so it’s safe to say she’s a DIY pro!
Our favorite project: We were blown away by Vineta’s DIY wine rack ideas. Best of all, she doesn’t offer just one design. She includes tutorials for 20 different wine racks, so you can choose the best design for your home!
